PAVE Writing and Math Workshops Homework Tutor Connection
Program Description: Parents and community volunteers work directly with students in need of one-on-one support Struggling writers and math studentsare given small-group instruction in their area of need Pathfinder tutors work with students who are struggling with homework completion, math facts, or reading fluency
Instructors: Community Volunteers Certified Teacher Pathfinder Tutors
Funding: FREE! 31a Grant PTO
Student Eligibility: Teacher recommendation MEAP data, Star Reading data, Teacher assessments , Grades Parent Sign-up
Area of concentration: Math Skills Reading Skills Class work/Homework Math Skills Writing Skills Homework, Math Facts, Reading Fluency
Communication: Teacher to volunteer Communication log Volunteer to teacher Teacher and Intervention Specialist work together, both will communicate progress to parents
Instructional Setting: Groups of three or less work in media center with volunteer Flexible groups (depending on skill) will work in designated classroom Small groups or individuals work in media center after school with older students
Frequency of Intervention: Once per week Once per week 1-2 times per week
Length of program: 11/30/06-6/10/07 12/7/06-6/10/07 Dec. ‘06 - June ‘07

Students to be serviced: Any student at-risk that can be helped by a parent volunteer All that qualify through MEAP, grades, and other achievement scores Students struggling with reading fluency, homework completion, or math facts who can work with an older student
