School Improvement Goals
GOAL AREA: Informational Reading
Our students will demonstrate improvement in reading and comprehending informational selections.
Strategies:
- Core content areas teachers will analyze multi-source data to focus their classroom reading instruction.
- Core content area teachers will analyze multi-source data to differentiate their reading instruction for individual students.
- Teachers will teach informational reading strategies in all content areas.
- Teachers will teach test-taking, reflection, and metacognition strategies.
- All teachers will use the 4 Standards for Authentic Instruction when planning:
- higher order thinking skills
- substantive conversation
- connections to the real world
- deep knowledge
GOAL AREA: Math (Computational Fluency)
Our students will demonstrate improvement in the computational fluency of basic multiplication and division facts.
Strategies:
- Math teachers will analyze data to help focus their instruction.
- Math teachers will increase the practice of math facts to improve time and accuracy.
- Math teachers will have students reflect on and chart their own progress on this goal.
GOAL AREA: Writing Across the Curriculum
Our students will demonstrate improvement in content writing in all curricular areas.
Strategies:
- Teachers will increase the amount of writing in each content area.
- Core content areas teachers will analyze multi-source data to focus their classroom writing instruction.
- Core content area teachers will analyze multi-source data to differentiate their writing instruction for individual students.
- Teachers will teach test-taking, reflection, and metacognition strategies.

Our school community will work together to create a positive, cohesive climate.
Strategies:
- All staff will foster caring and respectful behavior amongst students.
- All staff will increase parent involvement & communication in their classrooms.
- All staff will openly communicate & collaborate with each other.
